Michaels Bistro & Wine Bar: Exceptional New American Dining in Pendleton, IN

I've dined here twice & will definitely be coming back! Wonderful staff & very relaxing atmosphere. You can tell how much care goes into each dish. Great addition to downtown Pendleton! Highly recommend the Korean sandwich for lunch & the salmon for dinner, absolutely delicious.

We so enjoyed dining at Michael’s bistro, the wine, the food, the desert, and the welcoming atmosphere. And the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, we even had a chance to meet and compliment the chef. We live in Chicago and always seek out neighborhood restaurants like Michael’s! Luckily we have family we love to visit near Pendleton! Thank you from Jennifer and Mark for a lovely evening.

First time, look forward to next time. Went with friends who highly recommended. Exceptional food, flavors so balanced and complimented each other. Had beef medallions, crème brûlée was best ever tasted. Service attentive and prompt, staff professional but made you glad to be there. Definitely worth the $. Hope word gets out about this place. In my opinion you could spend a reasonable $ for an exceptional meal. Chef came around when he had time. Friend had wedge salad with protein added (salmon) which was just as good.

Pendleton, we are lucky to have this place. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the care and pride behind it - this isn’t just another restaurant, it’s a true community gem. Chef Shawn is doing something really special here. The food is thoughtful, fresh, and full of flavor, and you can tell it’s crafted with intention and passion. Every bite showed the level of skill and heart being poured into the kitchen. Kaitlien absolutely elevates the experience. Her cocktails are outstanding (recommend a marg or espresso martini). She brings such a welcoming energy that makes you want to stay awhile and come back often. Also shout out to Monica - the service is beyond impressive! It’s exciting to see a locally owned restaurant open in Pendleton and execute at this level. We’ll be regulars for sure and will proudly recommend this spot to anyone looking for great food, great drinks, and great people.

The pork chop was extremely flavorful, and make sure to order the Brussels sprouts — they’re phenomenal! I’ll definitely be coming back to try other dishes. Our server, Debbie, made everything perfect — she was very attentive, sweet, and gave great recommendations, which made the whole dining experience top-notch.
